Hey there, Luna here!

Transitionary experiences have cracked me open time and time again, bearing a thunder in my heart so loud it became impossible to ignore: "Be vulnerable.  Let go.  Fail and try again.  Always center authenticity."  And so, after a long journey walking as witness as well as having intimate encounters in and out of life's greatest thresholds, began the most potent work of my life: weaving together experiences as seemingly distant from one another as birth, grief and death.  These rights of passage are points of light living on the same spectrum, intimately woven together as the warp and weft of our individual and collective lives.  They call us to listen, mine their lessons, and journey up the trail until we make it to our new normal on the other side of the mountain.

Points of Light Doula Support offer families an opportunity to create grounded & meaningful peak life experiences across Birth, Grief, & Death.  Points of Light clients seek this out.

I am profoundly informed by honoring, healing, and serving through my queer identity, androgeny, history of trauma, neurodivergent world view, and an ever expanding dedication to resilience and spirituality each and every day.  Outside my professional life, you will encounter me singing, running, closing my eyes to see and feel the color of music, lifting my face to the sun for a few warming moments, leaning into the big feels that bring up all the tears, actively engaging to center the voices of those who everyday are invisible and/or stigmatized, and recommitting my relationship with joy and all the possibilities that come with it over and over again even in the face of great mountains.  What I know for sure: you are your best guide and I commit to meeting you at the center.  My cup is overflowing with gratitude to be invited on this voyage with you.

In great honor and light,

- K. Luna Lea

Luna was an incredible partner and especially helpful in providing information and clarifying options when we had to navigate more difficult decisions.

Luna offered wise reminders and witnessed me in my strength and believed in my Warrior Mama spirit--showing so much respect and empathy.  My heart is happy to know Luna is in my community supporting families before, during and after the intensity of birth.

Luna brought great perspective to the table and really helped me prepare for bringing my babe into the world.

Luna spends time with my husband (living with Alzheimer's) regularly.  I worry a lot, and when she is with him, that is when I don't worry.  He loves spending time with her.  She is open-hearted, treats him with dignity, and they get out of the house and outside consistently.  As a bonus, when I come home from work, dinner is ready to be finished off, and the dishwasher gets mysteriously filled or emptied.  We both feel lucky to be Luna's clients.

Luna's advice throughout all these months made me feel prepared and confident.

Luna stepped in when our trusted support withdrew from us in our time of need.  Luna got to know us and made us more comfortable with ourselves and each other.  I appreciate how you were there for both and all of us.

It was comforting to have Luna as part of the process and be able to talk through the last stages of pregnancy.  Also, to help further process our feelings about our first experience!  Thank you Luna for being on call so quickly for another rapid birth!

This was our third baby and our first time using a doula.  Luna helped me to process our previous birth experiences and really helped me to hone in on and actualize my desires for this birth.  Luna is warm as well as knowledgable, and had a wealth of resources for anything I sought support for.

Luna stayed with us through the labor to postpartum transition, which I was nervous about.  She helped to make our postpartum room a sanctuary.  This effort helped me to feel cared for and comfortable in our space so that I could focus on resting and bonding as a family across the first couple of postpartum days in the hospital before going home.

I appreciated Luna's expertise, insight, and gentle, caring nature through out our prenatal visits, laborite, and postpartum visits.  We would recommend Luna to any family looking for support in their childbirth journey.

Luna offered a warm, grounding, and heart-filled presence every step of the way.  We are so grateful she was part of our birth experience!

Luna provided a wealth of knowledge, gentle advice, and unwavering support through the third trimester and during our postpartum months.  Luna helped us navigate a number of issues during those chaotic, but precious, months...she even helped us find a nanny!  It was great to have someone--other than our medical care provider--whom we could turn to whenever we had questions or concerns.  I would, without hesitation, recommend Luna to anybody thinking about hiring a doula.

During 24+ hours of labor, Luna was a grounding and encouraging presence.  I honestly wouldn't have been able to make it as far as I did without her gentle reminders and suggestions.  And during the early postpartum period, she was there with validation and witnessing--she even saved me from an awful plugged duct by suggesting resources.  It makes me so happy to know Luna is providing doula support in our community!

We recently had a family gathering in our home to try and get care coordinated for my husband.  It was a meeting that I dreaded, filled with people who love the same person, but have difficulty communicating.  With Luna's facilitation, she kept us on track, held us to the time I had allocated, and steadfastly got to some points of agreement.  Having her there to facilitate gave me the courage I needed to get through the meeting.

Every point of light is a sacred opening and a potent ingredient to your strongest expression of self.   When you stand on the doorstep of birth, grief, or death you will find opportunity to hone courage and learn to let go and welcome in the great mystery on the other side.  These points are rights of passage holding sacred information for your individual spirit and our collective cultural lives.  When we engage them, we are more equipped to shift and thrive away from expectations and closer to our own authenticity.  Points of Light Doula Support uses this as a foundation from which we will love and care for you.

Naming what you want, envision & dream is a potent ingredient toward change.  The professional framework employed in our practice leverages advocacy based on what you seek for a meaningful experience.  We are excited to bring modalities to you and your family that explore the intersection you currently stand in, and how that positioning might effect your overall process physically, physiologically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  And! we will work together to infuse your experience with a powerful foundation grounded in the strengths of joy, justice, and authenticity.

Keen awareness and resilience are potent ingredients for change.  The core of our practice is rooted in trauma informed care, harm reduction, cultural competency, and anti-oppressive work. Points of Light Doula Support is fiercely committed to meeting you where you are at and honoring what will bring you authentic meaning to this experience.

In relation to birth specifically, rising health disparities are on the rise and disproportionately landing in communities effected by oppression including people of color, LGBTQIA2S+ folks, and those who live with anxiety and trauma as well as the stigma that comes along with it.  Birth is an opening that begs you to jump in the rough waters head first, do meaningful work, and come through to the other side with more compassion and a stronger resolve to show up fully as the most potent expression of yourself.

Spirit and joy are potent ingredients for change.  What would it look like for you to infuse a practice that is full of spirit into your experience?  Many of our clients have incorporated a spiritful and/or spiritual practice at points across their time with us.  We are living in a world full of all sorts of noise and distractions that detract from the meaning we can make from sacred experiences.  Finding ways to create authentic spiritful practice helps you take the time needed to lean-in to sacred ritual that facilitates connection, welcoming, letting-go, resilience and healing.  Spiritful work can be religous in nature, earth based, or an expression of your already established mindfulness practice.  It is our honor to work with you in this way so that you may open and engage a stronger alignment with your process.

Movement is a potent ingredient of change.  In some moments, slow and nurturing movement holds generous amounts of power to facilitate change.  Othertimes, a sharp spirit rupture promotes rapid and necessary shifts.  The rising tide of awareness surrounding health disparities illuminate the need for well informed, multilayered, comprehensive care that can hold the right kind of space for you to move and change effectively.  While movement of the body is literally a part of the work we do together, it is also used as metaphor to punctuate the need for change.  Together we ford through physical, mental/emotional, physiologic, and spiritual movement that open opportunities for you to relax, expand, and create space for change from within.  Our work integrates a variety of modalities including continuity of care, empathy, gentle guidance, hands-on support, mantra/visualization/breath work, and focused encouragement when the waters get choppy.

The human experience of life and death and all that is in-between are the forces that bind us within cohesive communities....[These are moments] when you feel your compassion and desire to love and protect your community rise up inside you.  You're flushed with oxytocin, which is the hormone that allows you to bond with those around you--you feel connection.
